07/11/2006 SUPERMOTO: a van Den Bosch il titolo mondiale in S2
Frenchman Thierry Van Den Bosch won the Championship in the first Moto, at the end of which his Team showed him an unusual board: 101% World Champion.
His first season in the S2 class finished with his fourth GP win, because VDB won both Motos, leading from the start to the finish.
2005 S2 World Champion Boris Chambon was VDB’s main rival in both Motos; Chambon finished second in the first Moto, and so he did in the second one, following VDB and almost catching him at the end of the second Moto.
Belgian Eddy Seel’s comeback after the wrist injury finished with a third place in the GP. The Suzuki rider tried to pass Manzo in the first Moto, but the Italian kept third until the chequered flag. Seel made a mistake and was passed by Gozzini, ending with fifth place behind the Italian Husqvarna rider. In the second Moto the Belgian made up for the first one, and finished third.
